Dipl.-Ing. (Univ.) Ottmar Sirch

Ottmar Sirch studied electrical engineering, specialising in semiconductor technology, at the Technical University of Munich until 1985. From 1985-2001, he worked at Siemens AG in the semiconductor division, later Infineon Technologies AG, as a technology developer, fault analyst and key account manager, as well as in strategic sales. He has been with the BMW Group since 2001. There he worked on various projects, including air-conditioning electronics, on-board power supply systems for hybrid vehicles and preliminary development of on-board power supply systems. He was instrumental in the standardisation and introduction of 48 volts in the automotive industry. Since 2015, he has been responsible for power electronics in electrified vehicles and onboard power systems as a cost engineer. In 2018, he will move to the area of chassis development.

Ottmar Sirch has been head of the conference “Electric & Electronic Systems in Hybrid and Electric Vehicles and Electrical Energy Management” since 2008, together with Dr Carsten Hoff.
