Biography:

Roland Matthé, a graduate engineer, is “Technical Fellow” for battery systems and Manager Electrification Architecture at Stellantis.

He is currently working in the fields of “new battery technologies and new cell chemistry”, battery reprocessing, battery testing, use of electric vehicle battery systems in the stationary sector to supply charging infrastructure and analysis of data from electric development vehicles.

Matthé has been working in the automotive industry since 1989 and has since been responsible for numerous projects and developments of vehicles – always with a focus on electromobility and battery technology. Among other things, as Technical Manager he led the development of the battery system for the Opel Ampera and the Chevrolet Volt at General Motors in Warren, Michigan, and coordinated the technical leadership group for battery systems at General Motors and Opel.
